Mentor, supervise, and support performance management of fellow designers
Allocate/delegate duties and follow the evolution of the team’s progress on game design deliverables
Assist fellow leads and managers in implementation of company policies and department initiatives and processes to help grow the team
Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new game designers
Work with and participate in decision-making with managers and producers in determining project scope, resources, and priorities for the design team and project
Work closely with other disciplines (programming, art, producers, QA, etc.) to help align the team on the design direction of a project
Communicate directly with the client or external partners with respect to design aspects of the project
Set the design direction of a game by composing concept proposals and pitches, game design documents, feature specifications, game pillars and the intended player experience
Critically analyze, deconstruct, and test own and team's designs and address feedback
Contribute to design prototyping, testing, balancing, and gameplay refinements
Remain up to date with tools, methods, trends and technologies, share these with the team and apply them
Requirements:
At least 4 years of experience in game design, shipped at least 2 titles (regardless of platform)
A passion for games, making games, and leading people
Has excellent interpersonal skills and is a highly organized clear thinker
Strong command of English and effective verbal and written communication skills
Knowledgeable in various gaming platforms, trends, and game production developments
Proficient in wireframing and graphics tools such as Photoshop or Figma
Experience in the basic use of game engines (either Unity, Unreal), maneuvering tools and/or whiteboxing
Ability to mentor and lead fellow game designers
A history of successfully leading a team or taking on project leadership roles
