Secret 6 had the unique privilege of creating 3D environments, animating cut scenes, and crafting visual effects for environments and boss fights in Song Of Nunu: A League Of Legends Story.
Working on League of Legends champions and presenting them in a new light proved to be an extraordinary endeavor. Readability is of utmost importance in the original League Of Legends game, due to its fast-paced and competitive nature. However, for Song Of Nunu: A League Of Legends Story, Tequila Works and Riot Forge focused on the story and friendship of Nunu and Willump, and on ultimately immersing players in the breathtaking world of Freijlord. This shift allowed us to explore more artistic opportunities to enhance the champions’ existing skills and evolve them into more stylish and visually appealing forms. Notable examples include Lissandra's Glacial Ice and Willump's Absolute Zero, which added depth and excitement to the gameplay.
We created stunning 3D environments, props, and weapons to transport players into the fantastical world of the game. We were also entrusted with animating many captivating cut scenes that would drive the narrative forward. Cut scenes also played a crucial role in enhancing the overall experience of a narrative game like Song Of Nunu: A League Of Legends Story, and we had the privilege of animating over ten of them. We took this opportunity to help breathe life into the characters through animation and provide valuable input on camera angles and other treatments that would effectively convey the story to the players.
Our expertise also extended to crafting the visual effects for the main characters, Lissandra and the lovable duo, Willump and Nunu, with the desire to help fulfill the vision of Riot Forge and Tequila Works to deliver top-quality visual experiences in the game. However, optimization was also crucial considering the game’s compatibility with a wide range of devices. This required a delicate balance between immersion and efficiency, guaranteeing an enjoyable gameplay experience for all players.
